Wonderful historic hotel. As you approach the place you are met with a warm welcome, and as you walk in you are engulfed by opulence and grandeur! On the ground floor there is the most gorgeous lounge area which used to form part of the caledoian railway in Edinburgh. There you can enjoy sitting in the splendour of this luxurious surrounding sipping your favourite drink as there are efficient staffs waiting to serve you. The sense of history and the amazing artichecture is entierly captivating so you can easily loose track of time.
Our castle view room, though not overly large, was furnished with the most sumptuous deep filled comfy bed fit for a king. Nice high ceilings and a marble bathroom added to the luxurious experience. The old style windows however, which are in keeping with the character of the building meant we could hear some traffic noise from the road which is a tiny negative but we still slept well.
Parking is limited but we managed to find a space throughout our 3 night stay. I would rate our breakfast 7out of 10 and dinner 8. It might be useful to sign up to an Hilton honours account for future offers if you enjoy travelling to gorgeous Edinburgh as they can be quite good.
Overall an enjoyable stay and a magnificent experience. Definitely returning.
