I'm on the fence about Homewood, it's a great resort for beginners and learners in my opinion as it has great greens and blue runs to learn and practice your techniques but for slightly more advanced skier's it is terrible, the lifts are slow and the blacks are either the equivalent of a hard blue or an ungroomed hard blue and they provide little challenge. I also call into question the quality of the maintenance that they perform as the most important chair (Ellis) was shut down for half a day because it couldn't handle the weight of a full load of people riding up to the top, that isn't just maintenance, not being able to complete its only objetive is a design flaw. The safety is also an issue as half of the lifts lack a safety bar and creak as they make their ascent. Additionally, as a result of the lack of safety Ellis and Madden are incredibly slow. Ellis was also stationary with riders on it for over 30 min before they got let the riders off of the lift while I was there. The other issue I found with the resort was the fact that some runs were marked as blacks on the map but when arriving at the runs, they were marked as blues (ex. Jimmy's Run). That being said, the lake views were amazing and the pictures you see will not due it justice.
