Heather Grant Review of Naval Medical Center San Diego

I was told if I didn't cancel all of my tricare approved OB visits to a civilian provider, that I would pay out of pocket for them, because they decided they had room for me. Turns out, they don't have a single appointment available. They haven't made me one real appointment yet and I am 39 weeks pregnant. They put me on a walk-in list and have me call around to NTC and Miramar to see if there's ANYONE who can take me.
I waited 3 hours to be seen just to check my vitals the other day. I asked to file a complaint and was blown off. My husband showed up and was seen the same day, in person, to explain our complaint for lack of good medical care. Why am I lesser than he when it is my body?
My doctor actually didn't want to explain the process of induction to me, but wanted me to schedule for one that was not medically necessary. She didn't mind pointing out that it was her lunch break even though my children sat for 3 hours and had to skip lunch themselves and were in the middle of crying as she said it- same as last time.
She's the most disoriented doctor I've ever encountered and I trust her as much as I trust myself to deliver my own baby, even though I can not see past my belly. She couldn't make up her mind about whether I had diabetes and suggested we review my ultrasounds, but couldn't furnish those things or remember giving me all this reason to worry.
Even the customer complaint guy commented that they are aware the OB department is a mess and they are so overloaded that they don't know how to fix it. This is my 3rd child and the last, because I'll be damned if I get stuck with these people pouring stress into another pregnancy of mine as if that doesn't affect the baby!
Look at previous reviews by others- people actually say things like, "I would rather die than return here." "The staff was condescending." ETC, It's really sad. And good luck parking even if you do decide to try it: it takes about a half hour to find a spot. Even with my parking pass, there are no available spots to park in even designated areas and the stalls are so close together that you can't open your door on both sides of the car- you have to unload passengers then squeeze in, which makes getting small children out of carseats absolutely impossible, especially with a belly to work around. My kids have had to exit through the trunk. This place is the worst quality of care I've ever in my life dreamt of.
