I have stayed at the Bahia Mar for the past few years around holiday time with great results. This time I opted for their breakfast buffet (this is a paid buffet) but it was actually really good breakfast I have ever had. They even had gouda and cold cuts for those who enjoy something savory for breakfast. I couldn't eat the rest of the day, it was perfect.

The hotel is clean, comfortable. The staff is very nice (Nancy as well as all the waitstaff and front desk staff were awesome.) Did anyone mention you get cookies at the front desk? Fresh baked free noms!

The only thing I would suggest is timing your elevator trips during peak check out time (leave a little earlier so you don't have to share the elevator too much)
The hotel has other yums to eat at their restaurants, shops, and events but I have never stayed long enough to check it out...yet. The view of the beach is nice, but honestly, you are so close to the beach you'll probably only use your room to refresh and relax.:D
