My wife and I went to Gregg Young Cheverolet in Omaha Nebraska to purchase a 2020 Chevy Traverse. With these being popular vehicles they did not have one in our price range on the Omaha lot but claimed that they had one on their lot and available in Norwalk Iowa. We decided that we would purchase this vehicle and have them ship it to the Omaha lot for us to pick it up so we paid our down payment and filled out all of the loan paperwork and we were told that we could pick up the vehicle the next week. The following Monday rolls around and I receive a phone call from the salesman that the car we agreed to purchase and had already done paperwork and down payment on was after all not on the lot in Norwalk even though on Saturday we were informed that they called the lot and verified that it was there and available for purchase before we agreed to it. We were then told that they would be looking for a substitute vehicle, substitute vehicle 1 was going to be more expensive then what we agreed to purchase so we asked if they changed color if that would help they found a 2nd substitute but had to wait until the following day. Tuesday the next day comes around and nothing is reported to us so on Wednesday the day before we were going to go to the lot to pick it up we are told that they could not work out a trade with the other dealer but they were getting ready to remove one from loaner status but it would raise our payments 5 dollars because it had some extra options, we agreed and asked if the cleanup, undercoat, etc. could be completed by Thursday so that we could still pick up the vehicle they informed us that they would try their best, at the end of the day we were told it could not be done in time so we asked about Saturday and we were told it would have to wait until the following week. We did not pick up the vehicle that we had already placed a sizeable down payment on until the following Friday, almost two weeks before we were able to get a vehicle. After we finally went to pick up the vehicle we were asked if we were ready to give our down payment which we had already given almost two weeks before (should have been recorded somewhere especially as we were paid with a check). We had to redo paperwork and purchase agreements before we could leave since it was a different vehicle then originally agreed on but we were finally able to head home with our new car. Later in the week I am looking at our loan account and discover that our loan is still listed as being for the original VIN (the vehicle that we couldn't get) I notified Gregg Young and it took almost an entire week to get the VIN corrected.
