Would have given more stars, but from the time I purchased the two day pass, it seems that they stopped using the fountains, tickets recommend checking wed site, but some what difficult when driving from the UK! If you are going and expect to see a lot of furniture in the Palace, you will be disappointed on that one also! Personally I when to see the architecture of the Palace and that did not disappoint! The gardens are something special and absolutely huge! I was hoping to view this with fountains working, but some where drained rest not working. It recommends that you purchase tickets in advance to save time. But you will still have to queue for 30 - 45 mins as only two people checking your tickets on entry. You will also find that there are so many people, the you feel like you cattle herded through the Palace. Hoards of people! To me, just far too many people allowed in at one time, if there is ever an emergency, at would be chaotic! temperature outside 28 degrees and it was stifling in there! Also a reluctance from staff to open windows to help people who were suffering with the conditions within the Palace. This is my personal experience of the Palace of Versailles. It is still well worth visiting the Palace. I would have given this five stars but, queuing and a lack of any fountains working either day, also lack of up to date information regarding of visit, 3 stars I think it deserves.
