When you can get a seat at one of the upstairs bars, this place is glorious. When you are stuck on the first floor, it is pretty terrible. Last time I was there, the wait for a table for 6 upstairs was *3 hours* at 6:30 PM. On top of that, service on the first floor has gone way downhill. (Picture bartenders and barbacks chatting away with each other while people crowd the bar. Not cool when you're paying $15 for a cocktail and can barely breathe.)

In short: Check out Fraunces Tavern around the corner. Historic, and you'll be happier.
