Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal! Chef Hugo's award winning reputation is solid!
Its a very pricey menu -but I didn't expect it to be cheap walking in with my wife and In-law family.
Although the appetizer portions leave one a little disappointed (for the price), I think the goat cheese empanads actually made me hungrier and prepared my taste buds for the next phase of our meal.
I complained about the price of the Cabrito and almost tried to suggest my wife and I share the famous main course so we can try the desert. But I am so incredibly happy I did not.
The Cabrito was cooked just right, with ample amounts of moisture, just a hint of goat aroma remaining, lightly spiced, wrapped in a banana leaf - perfection!
The tres leches was good. I think they compete well in the high quality South American desert category, but definitely not the best in this culturally rich town.
I would not fall under the typical mid-high end spender for fancy dinner spots in houston, but as a food lover - I thank chef Hugo for this high class culinary experience!
