It was a good experience, although the cold weather made it shorter. It offers a beautiful view from the city, if you get pedestal tickets (crown tickets are harder to get)! Fortunately we didn t have to get in any big lines (we went on February).
From Manhattan you take a ferry on Battery Park, and from New Jersey you have to go to the Central Railroad of New Jersey terminal. Be careful while buying online tickets, we bought guided tour without even knowing, and we actually just wanted to visit by ourselves.
