I really hate giving this review, as prior to cons...

I really hate giving this review, as prior to construction this was one of my favorite places in Downingtown, but for now it is what it is.

We visited on Sunday, April 15th to have dinner, our first time since the new construction. The seating area is far more open.

After ordering, a large table was sat behind us with about six kids. I have kids, and it s a loud place - My bar is set low. However, the kids were wrestling around and between tables, throwing things in the hallway, and screaming. Picture an upscale McDonalds play area, but without the glass wall between the play area and other patrons.

How the staff didn t see this with multiple tables visibly upset (and it occurring right in front of them) is beyond me. Strike that: It s because they were all at the front talking to one other. I went up and asked for boxes and a receipt so we could leave.

The waitress said she knew why and asked if we wanted to see a manager. I said no, as I didn t want to cause a scene with the other table. The manager showed up anyway. According to her, she just arrived and apologized. In the meantime, she did nothing to stop the fight spinners being thrown around the space between tables while we boxed our things up.

The food, as always, was good. The half beer Is had (before leaving) was delicious. Our waitress (as far as taking our order) was great.

Management, in my opinion, is now a joke at this location. If they want the Downingtown location to be Romper Room at 4:30PM fine, but let your other patrons know.

In the meantime, my hope is once they do something with the empty space stuff like this won t happen again. Still, there are other brewpubs worth trying until then.
