The location of this hotel is great. Walking distance to the White House and in a good day, you can walk to the National Mall. With that said, if you are going this time of the year, keep in mind that they are renovating several parts of the hotel (as of April 2019). This means that if your room is located in the first floor, you will probably wake up from the drilling sound.
It seems that the renovations forced the hotel to lower the rates, and that made many of the people unhappy. Service was ok, however, most of the people in the lobby do not even smile with few exceptions. They said since we are VIP Expedia members, we will be given view, which was the street view on the first floor seeing the trees. They, however, gave us coupons for two free drinks from Starbucks in the lobby (which closes super early). They also gave us late checkout because of the VIP status.
