Although I'm currently living in London, I've lived in Melbourne all my life. At first I hated the square but i've come to love it due to it's mish-mash and controversial design. As an engineer i work on structural projects and can only imagine how difficult something like federation sqaure would be to design and construct... full props to those involved! There's plenty of bars and resteraunts, although some are a little pricey, and it's a great meeting point. Watching the Rugby World Cup there in 03 was amazing... just a dissappointing result. Other sporting events like the soccer/football world cup have been held there and it is the perfect spot for such events! That's 5/5 from me. If you don't like it now, look at melbournes skyline and tell me what else would fit in with the mix of architecture we have...
