We have attended MotoGP races five times including this weekend (November 2-4) at the Sepang Circuit. It is a great place to watch the world's best riders showcase their machines and their riding skills. Always exciting and interesting with a wide variety of fans from Malaysia, SE Asia and other corners of the world.
Normally sit in grandstands, but this year we were in the Shell Hillstand. Not a particularly comfortable location especially in torrential rain as there is no cover. Views were good from the end (near where you enter) as you had views of them entering and exiting several corners and then speed down the back straightaway. As you walk further along in the Hillstand you are fairly close to the track and had a good view of the riders and their marvelous bikes.
The worst and most dangerous thing about attending the MotoGP races, is, and always has been, the entrance and exit. On Sunday, Race Day, the mass of humanity trying to go through the one main entrance and then leave by that one main exit is a horrendous experience! The people with young children always look terrified. Twice, it has been so overwhelming I was close to panicking (and I lived in China for 15 years and am used to large masses of humanity).
As others have said, the bathrooms could be improved upon as could the many, many areas of uneven and broken pavement.
There was a large contingent of police on duty - directing traffic and watching over the crowds. They were quite attentive, friendly and helpful when we needed assistance guiding a driver picking us up on Saturday. Think if you are staying at a hotel that offers shuttle service - take it!
Overall, it is a great experience (other than entering and exiting on Race Day) to watch your favorite MotoGP riders.
