Loved everything about this spot: Beautiful room, delicious foods, evening jazz, helpful staff, great amenities, ocean view.

We stayed in the English Tudor room, which was a travel back in time, complete with luxurious, modern fixings and finishing touches, including a jacuzzi, big/fluffy bed, duel-nozzle shower, chocolates on our pillow, s'mores for the fire pit, a gas fireplace, a comfortable couch and seating area, and opera music filling the room when we checked in.

The valet was extremely helpful with its pickup and dropoff service, which employed two Buick SUVs to take guests in and out of town. This was an extremely useful option, since hailing a cab is not an option, and we didn't want to drive everywhere.

The Spiced Pear is one of the most exquisite dining experiences I've had in a while. I had heirloom tomato soup, mushroom risotto with a quinoa base, and hand-painted chocolates for dessert, alongside the tastiest cocktails: the Spiced Pear and the French Pear.

All of this was followed by a stop in the bar area, where a live jazz band was playing classic jazz songs and seasoned couples were trotting around, enjoying their loves' company.

The stay is a bit pricey, but worth the experience. The staff pays attention to detail and makes the stay worth every penny.

I only regret that there are now 24 rooms I haven't stayed in, as they're all unique!
