We had two burglaries and two subsequent attempted burglaries at the Redwoods. The reason I am writing this review is not because of the burglaries but because we were surprised at how management handled our case.

The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) actually caught one suspect (arrested in possession of my iphone) and requested management for the video footage as evidence for the burglary case. I still don't understand why management refused and instead had its legal department request the police a court order. SJPD has only 2 detectives doing paperwork so the SJPD was unable to submit the court order in a timely manner. As a result, the suspect was soon released with minor charges for possessing stolen property (because of this, the police was only able to get our iphone back). We thought it was in the best interest of management to help its residents, but they just made it more difficult.

I spoke to the manager and two officers from Diplomatic Security at the State Department traveled from San Francisco to speak to management as well. The State Department informed management that they were submitting the court order request to help with the arrest of the suspect and protect the integrity of my family. Once again, Irvine's legal department responded by saying that it was SJPD's jurisdiction, and refused to give the video footage to the federal authorities .

To end the story short, we saw a person of interest in the nearby premises, informed the SVSP and they never showed up. I stormed into the leasing office telling them about the situation and the person from the Redwoods Leasing Office was just looking at the clock ready to leave the office, which she did. We never heard back from management.

I have never before felt this disrespected . We tried terminating the contract early and even under our circumstances, the Redwoods made it very difficult to do so. We heard that four neighbors had burglaries as well that same day and two days later, we saw those apartments empty.
