Dirk Friedrich Review of Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah
Ground floor is great including food offering.

Some basic rooms are outdated, old and not the standard of a top hotel. On top, ceiling height is incredibly low in the rooms. The suites are great though.
One thing that remains in my mind is that the concierge and reception could barely be reached by phone. Staff is friendly but I wouldn't say you can achieve everything in that hotel when just speaking English, in all my visits the language barrier was obvious. But to put that in relation, it was not different in any other hotel I've been to in Cairo add the just three stars compares to Sofitel's in Europe while it would definitely be better if there wouldn't be the language barrier.
Also check out procedure is long and complicated, especially if you need a receipt via email.
