The reputation of The Breakers is one we had always heard about.....from the magnificent architecture to the superior service. So naturally we decided to splurge and stay one night while we were passing through Florida on our way up the coast. Immediately, your breath is taken away by the sheer beauty of the property as you drive down the main drive. We were greeted by valet as we pulled to a stop and our bags whisked away to our awaiting room. The grandeur of the lobby gave us the first glimpse at how special our stay was going to be. The front desk checked us in and we had booked a deluxe guest room with partial ocean view. We were upgraded to a top floor room with access to Flagler Club. The room itself was disappointingly small. Just enough room for one person to walk around each side of the bed. The bathroom, on the other hand, was spacious and had a double vanity which was greatly appreciated. Both rooms were very clean and we were surprised to see that we had an adjustable bed that resulted in a much needed good nights sleep. The view from our room was very nice and we were able to see the ocean. Unfortunately we received rain the day that we were there so we were not able to explore all the grounds or the beach. The Flagler Club was a bonus. We enjoyed complimentary desserts and drinks plus an amazing view of the skyline at night. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and we had an included breakfast buffet in the spectacular Circle. Overall our stay left us a little disappointed only in that we had spent quite a bit of money to stay at such an iconic hotel only to have smaller than average accommodations. If I could do it over again I would, but I don't think I'll do it a second time.
