Select Health is a poor insurance company. I would encourage everyone to avoid doing business with them.

Their friendly customer service reps are a veneer for an ultimately poor company.

They have a board of pharmacists that make medical decisions for their customers. This board has no interest in the recommendation of their customer's in-network physicians. It is HMO-like in their ruthlessness.

To get them to consider a physician's opinion, you must engage in an appeal process of a dangerous length. I hold this insurance company personally responsible for negative health outcomes.

Having this insurance company is bad for your health. Eat a bacon cheeseburger instead.
