This place is pretty lame as zoos go. I live in a town of 150k people in Germany and the zoo there is better. Was expecting an extensive native Australian species exhibit but it was severely lacking - 2 koalas, 3 kangaroos, platypus exhibit closed, no echidna, pictures of cassowaries everywhere but no actual cassowaries, no big snakes, very few reef fish. The gift shop is a bigger rip off than Melbourne airport. Generic kids T-shirts are over $30. Same t-shirts are $5 at Victoria market and $25 at the airport. This place was an utter disappointment.
