Personally, I see a lot of people complaining but, they should be more objective. I was very displeased with the quality of the Chemistry and Physics departments (as these were my original focus areas). However, I absolutely fell in love with the Environmental Science and Geography department. It's a tight knit community and those that complain about this department are typically those whom didn't know what courses to choose or those that would be most helpful. They are very flexible, I was able to obtain a Dual B.S. degree, with a minor, plus technical skills courses, as well as, participate in great local internships that not only gave me professional experience but, class credit as well. My only complaint is the lack of graduate funding provided to SUNY Schools by NYS. They have great masters programs with lots of potential, especially a great location for their Biology and Lake Management programs. However, without much funding available it's hard to attract graduate students. Overall, if you stay smart and realize you're there to prepare for your future then you should do well. Attitude is a large contributor to one's success.
