My eight-year-old enjoyed herself. Unfortunately, many of the exhibits if not most may as well have been without animals. The zoo closes at 4 p.m.. We felt rushed to choose what we wanted to see in the two hours that we had. Visiting the zoo early in the morning and/or finding out what time the animals are fed would be the most rewarding experience.
I'm happy that the homes that these animals live in allow for space but it is frustrating to catch a glimpse and end up following a crowd of people to running around to another viewpoint to hoping to see them before they're out of site.
One of the most exciting and unexpected exhibits are the penguins. They allow from view underwater and above water. There are plentiful both above and below the water swimming right alongside the glass.
For anyone hoping to see elephants, they were moved a couple years ago after the veteran elephant passed away. I talked to someone whowork there for many years and learned that elephants do best in groups so they moved the remaining to a zoo where there were five others. This was good to hear.
