My husband and I booked our stay in Denver for our honeymoon. There were several complications with the booking process and my husband was charged twice for the room. This was only discovered on his end and he contacted the hotel to get a refund.

He decided to splurge and get a nicer room for us. We arrived at the hotel around midnight after the wedding. I showed up in my veil and decked out in bridal wear. The attendant didn't say a word, no congrats or anything (which is half the fun). He didn't seem to care about the situation that we were in.

We were completely exhausted from the day and were looking forward to a good night sleep in a gorgeous room. When we checked in though, the Westin did not have our room available or even a backup room for us. The only room they had had two double size beds and a shared patio with the ENTIRE FLOOR. So romantic for our first night being married!

Since we didn't have any options, we had to go with the room that was less expensive than the room we'd already paid for. We went to get into the room and our key didn't work. Apparently they'd given us the complete wrong kind of key. So my new husband went down to get the other key. The second one also didn't work. I was sitting in the middle of the hall for 30 minutes, still exhausted and in my wedding gear.

We finally got into our room (with two beds) and simply wanted to sleep. A manager came up and tried to make things right by giving us breakfast vouchers and a bottle of wine, which were appreciated but didn't make up for the first night of our honeymoon being a complete disaster.

When we went out a few days later to go shopping, we couldn't get into the parking garage with our key (broken again).

The only thing that somewhat salvaged the trip was an extremely attentive and professional waitress at the breakfast buffet.

My husband called after our stay to complain about the horrible experience and so far? NOTHING has been done.

Overall, I have told everyone I know not to go here for ANY occasion.
