Absolutely brilliant. We hit up the 5th floor collection first for a blast of modern art - all the hits from Monet through to Warhol - and amazing to be amongst them. (nitpick - sometimes MoMA doesn't have the greatest examples of all these artists works).

Went to two special exhibitions next: Japanese architecture and Degas. Both were deep, well constructed with great explanations / story telling to help me. I ran out of time during Degas - simply too much to see.

The fact that kids under 16 are free, makes going there as a family a much more attractive proposition.

tip: take a tote not backpack if you want to carry stuff; people knock into things more with backpacks on. A free bag check is available
tip: don't forget to visit the outside sculpture garden on the ground floor.
