Because my son-in-law was doing the treating I did...

Because my son-in-law was doing the treating I did not want to embarass him with my complaint so I will do it here. My daughter likes a full bodied chardonnay and named a label that she enjoys but was not on the Langford Hall menu. The sommalier said he had an equivalent. The chardonnay he brought was of an entirely different type, Did he not know the wines in the Langford Hall cellar? Of course we did not accept his choice and requested another bottle. My grandson ordered steak and asked for no sauces or embellishments and requested french fries instead of mashed. The waiter assured him that there was no problem with accomodating him. His meal arrived exactly as it was described on the menu, sauces, purees and mashed potatoes-quite lovely but not at all as requested. By the time the fries arrived the rest of us (4) had nearly finished our dinners and we still had to wait for ketchup!!!! my dinner was duck breast with chantrelle mushrooms. There was 1/2 a chantrelle mushroom buried in a sauce. The menu did not say chantrelle mushroom sauce - it said duck breast with chantrelle mushrooms. If you order steak and mushrooms, do you not get mushrooms that are present and visible? The duck breast was beautifully done. but the duck must have been a weight lifter -the meat was so tough that chewing became a jaw exercise. I still have my own teeth, thank God. My daughter and granddaughter did not finish their lobster so they requested to have them packaged to take home. We never saw the lobster again. The setting was absolutely beautiful so next time I will have a glass of wine there and go somewhere else for dinner.
