I went to the Children's Hospital Los Angels with my young daughter. The nurses were great! The issue came about when the doctor came in and I refused to give my daughter a hard drug (fentanyl - she's 12 months old). I further experienced issues from the doctor when she was trying to "sell" me on new innovative treatments and told me that the regular treatments won't do.
She was obviously looking for money that she would get from commission payments as she changed her recommendation 3 times and the report I received afterwards was the complete opposite of what she had told me needed to be done, and opposite of the degree of severity she verbally told me that my daughters injury was.
She then covertly called social services on me for "neglect" and for refusing to give her a tetanus shot (which is not true. I asked her what she thought about me giving the tetanus shot at this point and she said the tetanus shot really wouldn't do anything at this stage and that if i wanted to protect my daughter I needed to get a "tetanus immunoglobin " incision for my daughter (which is a specialized treatment that my daughter would have to receive at a specialized clinic and that my personal doctor cannot administer)).
Overall it was a horrible experience. She tried to back me into a corner to get her commission payments instead of actually giving me honest, sound advice. My daughter is now back in the medical care system in my home country getting sound and sane medical care that is not nearly the extent of what I was told needed to be done.
Beware of losing your rights as a parent if you go to this hospital. I will never go back and needed to share this story so that people are warned in advance and can seek treatment elsewhere.
