I don t usually write reviews, but in this case I feel one is warranted. My husband and I have gone to the Pub and had a great experience there and were looking forward to eating at the Tavern. We love history, and enjoy dining at historic restaurants. We have gone to several historic taverns and pubs up and down the east coast. The Tavern was by far the worst and a huge disappointment. And we re really not that picky. I got the chicken which was good, but the sides were terrible. My husband got the NY Strip steak, which was not only severely over cooked but not actually a strip steak. Tasted more like hamburger meat. Needless to say we sent it back. The manager assured us it would be removed from the bill however it was not, which seemed a little shady. Our server was friendly but kept disappearing on us. He offered dessert to compensate for the steak then left us waiting at least 15 minutes before he came back to take our order. By that time we just wanted to leave. It s a cool building and I m sad to say I will probably never go back.
