Cypress mountain is the best place from downtown to go snowboarding or skiing. The slopes are groomed to stay in good condition. If you ever forget some gloves they have a shop where you can buy them.

Compared to grouse it's a lot more dedicated to the sports that go on there. It feels like there is more than twice as many slopes. The downside is that if you go there with the family and are planning not to take part in the sports you will find yourself with little to do. Grouse is stronger in this regard.

The best time to arrive at Cypress is at 8am as the crowds don't arrive until around 2pm. This usually gives you entire slopes to yourself and friends.
