Inanna Sumer Review of Boulder Valley Cat Clinic

Mixed experience here... the front desk and vet tech staff were AWESOME! The vet was not. My cat has a chronic auto-immune condition for which the UC vet only offered pain medication to manage until surgery. The surgery cost quoted by UC was based entirely upon a price I verbally indicated was given to me by a previous SPECIALIST, a specialist who works with this specific condition. I sought out UC because I could not afford the specialist price. The vet at UC only read the details provided from our previous vet chart (our regular vet who does not do surgery). UC vet indicated the cost of surgery -at a premium that matched the specialist price I quoted PRIOR TO ANY EXAMINATION OF MY CAT. Also prior to examination the UC vet was eager to reprimand me for not feeding my cat an ancestral diet. Shame is never a good tactic with clients who are already struggling with the pain of a sick pet. To compassionately inform is a better tactic. FORTUNATELY, the next vet I found -at a different clinic gave us antibiotics for pre-surgery treatment (quoted at a reasonable price since she is also not a specialist). Just 2 days on antibiotics, I saw a great improvement in my cat's quality of life, her personality bounced back, she started gaining weight and is no longer struggling with symptoms!
