I m NOT an employee but the complaints I have list...

I m NOT an employee but the complaints I have listened to from several current and past employees are all disturbingly consistent all across the board from several different departments and programs of Goodwill Industries of Southern & Western Colorado. Based of reviews I ve read from Facebook and google, I see the safety of the employees has been and still is an ongoing issue with this organization. It s definitely the least of their worries. They don t treat them as a priority unless they need them to risk their lives and safety to travel to work in inclement weather or ward off manic homeless people who supervisors and management are too scared to call the police on. Today s inclement weather has closed all of the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County s govt buildings, including all of the courts. In addition to Military installations being closed and some on a 2 or more hour delay. The Colleges are closed. Pikes peak library district, Silver key senior services are closed. CSHA is closed. That s not even a handful of places that are considering their employees safety over trying to meet quotas or making a quick buck or claim to offer services to people who can t even get to your programs because of the inclement weather and delayed public transportation. I just find it ridiculous that Goodwill would remain open or without delay despite the extremely unsafe weather conditions and being that all the news channels are advising people to stay off the roads. I don t think a couple dollars are worth your employees risking their lives And their only means of transportation for $11 which won t even pay for the damages or allow them to buy a new one. Mountain Metro is even on a delay until 10, so if your employees take the bus, they wouldn t be able to get to work until noon. You all should be ashamed of yourself for several reasons! The sad part is that you all don t care about the bad reputation or extremely high turnover rate that you all have and no concern for fixing it. For Shame Goodwill Industries!

Response to Goodwill: using your personal time for what should be a snow day is completely unethical, inconsiderate and a blatant disregard of your employees safety and lives. That makes people REALLY want to work for your organization and as for LEAP being your excuse for staying open, it is law that in winter months (Nov 15 to March 15), CSU cannot cut off their customers utilities if they are used to heat their house...so that s a lie.
