Ian Review of Boulder Valley Cat Clinic
I ll try to keep this short and to the point.
I ll try to keep this short and to the point.
I met the people who work at this clinic, including Dr. Kern, at a vendor event in boulder and fell in love with the idea of a cats only vet in Colorado.
I also have no problem with the carnivorous diet for cats message.
But three things ruined this experience for me beyond any repair, and hurt even worse because I felt I had gotten to know the people I was taking my Kiki to.
1) I have never seen Kiki so traumatized or take so long to recover from any vet I ve taken her to, and she s been to four different vets as I ve moved a few times since then.
2) I only agreed to having bloodwork run on Kiki after asking if I could implement a payment plan, specifically saying can I pay 100-150$ a month for x number of months? They said absolutely, only to run the bloodwork and then bring me two third party credit card applications that required me to pay in full first. My bill was almost 600$ when I had been quoted at under 200 (I m being generous with both numbers). I am not someone who can afford to throw away money - this bloodwork was not necessary in anyway, and I feel like I made myself very clear about the circumstances under which I was willing to pay for it. But I felt railroaded by the doctor who supposedly cares more for cats and their owners than any other.
3. I never received the bloodwork results in my email. I received the confirmation for the appointment in my email so I know they have my information. I also received a confirmation phone call prior to the appointment. So I spent 600$ for nothing at all.
I don t mind being lectured about my cats health or receiving less than stellar news about how shes doing or how I take care of her - that s why I brought her to this vet. But this is bad business by any standards, I felt taken advantage of at the time, and now, months later, I feel like I actually got conned as I never saw those results.
I paid 600$ for a sluggish sedated cat who is now terrified of her cat carrier, period.
