Just got home from a weeks holiday (25/5/18-1/5/18). Het Heijdebos was a lovely Centre Parcs, didn t like the aqua mondo much but that s just me.my nieces and nephews loved it, I thought it was too fast and dangerous. The cottages could do with a bit of a make over but ours was ok, apart from the patio which had massive trees growing out of ours and had no garden, just a big dip. We definitely loved the lake bar, we spent most of our days sun bathing outside. The staff there were very nice and friendly. Overall a very nice place to stay.
The main reason for my review is to let you know about the safety of the activity s and the care from the staff at the Cycle Centre. They are quick to take your money but when it comes to caring about your welfare, then that s none existent. From mine and my partners experience their attitude stinks. We hired out 3 Segways for an hour, I think it was over 100 for the 3. When we got there, he came out with the Segways, didn t give any training on them, just said to my niece, (who hadnt been on them before), just step on and go, no proper training at all. All we got for protection was an helmet. No gloves, knee or elbow pads like we have had at our visits at other Centre Parcs in France. We also didn t have any guide with us, he just said to us, off you go and have fun. I did think it was strange, wasn t sure about going on our own without a guide.
Anyway we was half way round when all went horribly wrong with me and partner, we accidentally clipped each other s wheels and it threw us both off onto the pathment. Me taking skin off my elbow, badly spraining my ankle, whip lash to my neck and bruising to my knee, me passing out at the road side and as for my partner scrapping his knee and bruising his ribs and damaging his shoulder. We thank the lovely people who went out their way to help us, although we ended up in A&E as they thought I d broken my elbow and paying 250 for my X-rays.
Anyway the staff from the Cycle Centre was told and they came out to collect the Segways and not once did they come over to see if we were ok, they just picked up the Segways and left and then tried to charge us 750, for what little damage there was on all 3 machines even tho only 2 was involved in the incident. Disgraceful, they didn t care about us. Yes ok, we did sign a weiver but we thought we would get protection. In the end the manager got involved and we only paid 100 but they are conning, as they was trying to say all 3 was badly damaged.
All I can do is to tell you about our experience and how the staff couldn t give a damn about the conceiquences after. The customer care was non existent, we won t be going back there or going on Segway again, which is a complete shame as we did like it there. Not happy
