When I called to ask for a wait time they said they aren't allowed to give it out. When I got to the emergency room I was very unsure if I was in the right place, despite the big "EMERGENCY" sign on the door because the design does not look like an emergency entrance & I've never before been to a hospital where you have togo through a TSA-style metal detector.

They said they can't check insurance or anything like that at the front like most hospitals.

The waiting room was small, dirty, & smelly. It's more pleasant to sit in the bathroom then the waiting room. When the nurse called me back she was going through questions so fast it was hard to understand what she was saying. When I answered her questions she kept interrupting my answers to ask the next question. It's like she wasn't listen & didn't have the time of day to care for patients.

The nurse said they couldn't do anything for me until I pee in a cup then knock on the door when I'm done. The main reason I came to the hospital is because I can't pee. After about 30 minutes of trying, I knocked on the door. Every time they answered they wouldn't talk to me. I didn't know who to go to for help & was not fond of the atmosphere there so I left to take a Lyft to Marin Hospital.

Most hospitals in SF are terrible for emergency, but this one is the worst experience next to SF General where you sometimes wait 6+ hours & never get seen. Go to Marin if you want to be seen faster, have a better cleaner atmosphere, & better treatment.
