NEW REVIEW: Check engine light came on in my husba...

NEW REVIEW: Check engine light came on in my husband's jeep for the oil pump to be fixed/replaced. It's covered under warranty so we thought we'd give Covert a 2nd chance to fix the issue and redeem themselves. Service department is STILL AWFUL. We took it in mid April I believe, and they called and said all that needed to be done to fix the light was an oil change because whoever changed the oil previously over filled it. Ok whatever just fix the issue. Go to pick up the jeep and are surprised to find out that we have to pay for the oil change (no problem there) but they also charged us a diagnostic fee of almost $200. This was part of warranty work so we should not have to pay for the diagnostic fee. Fast forward 3 weeks and only 206 miles later and the check engine light comes back on FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. Clearly they didn't "diagnose" the problem properly and just wanted to make some extra money. We will not be coming back here again to purchase or have "work" done on our vehicles.

My husband took his Jeep to the Covert Chrysler Jeep Ram service department for work that was covered under the warranty. They called him to (of course) tell him of all these other things that need to be fixed on the Jeep as well, but proceeded to say those were not covered under warranty and would cost us $1300. Thankfully, my husband got the warranty departments information and called them directly to check that this was, in fact, not covered under warranty. The warranty department told him that it was covered and the dealership needed to fix it. Ricardo in the service department did not like that we called the warranty department behind his back, and after my husband escalating the situation up to his manager, told my husband that "this time they will fix it under the warranty, but in the future it would not be fixed under the 7 year power train warranty, and to not expect it to be." We purchased this vehicle from this dealership, paid for the highest warranty, and it was certified by them stating we have a 7 year power train warranty. The jeep is 6 years old with less than 70,000 miles on it. Integrity lacks here, and I will never purchase a vehicle from any Covert. Apparently a $50 deductible really means you pay the $50, but we will charge you for everything we use to fix the car totaling almost $100. Your service department is the WORST I've ever dealt with.
