Review of Gansevoort Hotel Group

Not as good as I had hope.

Not as good as I had hope.
Had to complain a number of times and was given two rooms before we was given one that was acceptable.
The rooftop swimming pool, that was the main attraction of this hotel was undergoing construction work and was closed 2 day. And then it was closed other times for private parties so hotel guests not allowed. Although when the pool was open it was great.
Staff were generally rude and didn t seem to care much about our concerns.
Food and drink in the hotel was good although again service was pretty poor.
As well as the pool there was construction going on all over the hotel which was very noisy in the day.
In summary I would say avoid this overpriced hotel and shop about, there is a lot better in New York in this price bracket.
