The pool is always open to anyone, classes don't interrupt families or individuals. The adventure center for kids is open, airy, with tons of climbing structures including a huge permanent soft slide that takes up an entire corner! The hanging house is very popular with my two little ones! The child watch lacks things to do for the kids who are to small for being without a parent in the adventure center, and that's a draw back.

The workout equipment is to odd the live, and the pave offers many extras you don't see at other ymca places because they're supported by the university of Rochester, and I assume a healthy donation had helped secure the equipment! The gyms for b-ball, racquetball and others are well maintained and have tons of natural light.

The hot tub, sauna, locker rooms and amenities are always clean, well maintained, repairs seem to be instant and nothing is ever looking damaged. They have a huge climbing wall that anyone can use, and there are computers for everyone to access.

The drawbacks aren't the facilities as much as the staff. They aren't very friendly, seem too professional and withdrawn. I've had issues with staff in the child centers, they refuse to work with individuals and instead only support the policies. Granted I understand that need to maintain policy, but if a parent is unhappy with a service and finds others who feel the same, and the policy didn't change then there's something wrong with that. The members who go here are distant and not always friendly as other ymca's . They sometimes seem to have a chip on their shoulder and don't return smiles not answer questions.
