Wow! Definitely worth the stop. Couple camp grounds were fully booked so we just went for a day hike. Within minutes on the angel's palace trail you are in a completely different landscape with awesome views. The trail is a bit hard to follow but you cant really get lost as you come down the same way you went up. Stay off dirt roads when wet. Even a little rain. It may not look wet but when you loose traction it's worse than snow.
