Went for Happy Hour on my birthday with family and friends and left feeling unhappy do to their relentless nickel-and-diming. I read about the happy hour specials on their web site the night before. Web site stated $5 cocktails, but the actual price was $6. Ordered a $15 burger and the waiter asked if we want fries or a salad. Not until we receive the bill was it then known that they were $4 extra. Bought an expensive cheese board ($26) and it came with inadequate toast pieces, waiter noticed we were out and asked if he could get more for us. Again, not until we received the bill did we see a charge for an additional $2. We had 2 glasses of wine and were charged for 5. These were removed after we asked about it. All in all, I calculate the extra charges added about $30 to a bill of about $200. Business perspective, just a quick 15% fee in my book. Not thoughtful, it is easy to not inform the customer, but a good business practice is to make sure the customer understands there is a hidden charge and communicate that truth at the time of ordering. Transparency is essential.
