Facilities and service make Now Larimar an outstanding resort. Highly recommend upgrading to preferred for access to private pools, lounges, and restaurants. Especially loved getting up every morning to have breakfast at Castaways by the water. The staff went above and beyond. As a person with Celiacs Disease, I am used to being content with few to no choices and seek food items that won't make me sick. Henry, who worked at Castaways, made sure to be at each restaurant to explain my dietary restrictions to staff because not everyone understood English. Our group would have reservations at new restaurants each evening and Henry would magically appear at that restaurant to make sure the kitchen staff prepared gluten free options for me. We didn't ask for this, he just overheard me asking for gluten free food on the very first day of our trip and took it upon himself to do so. Talk about going above and beyond!! Reservations aren't necessary but our group didn't want to have to wait for a larger table. Desiree made our reservations each evening and was happy to help. The beach was beautiful and clean, the pools were relaxing with incredible bar service. Our favorite dinner restaurants were Capers, Tamarindo, and Spice (hibachi). Make sure to arrange dinner reservations for hibachi on the night you arrive. Mercure was good as well. The portions were very small so members of our group ordered two entrees. The rooms were beautiful and service was once again outstanding. We had an issue with the air conditioner. It was fixed immediately. Rooms were cleaned and mini bar was restocked each day. Cesar arranged for a new treat to be sent to the room each evening. On the rainy day we used the hot tub and magically had champagne and fresh fruit delivered. I say magically, because the staff at this resort knew before you did what would be an amazing addition to your stay and make your trip one of a lifetime. They did this without being obtrusive and without expecting extra tips. That being said, I highly recommend tipping and tipping well. These staff members work very hard over very long days. They work all morning at one place, at a restaurant later on in the day, and some provide the entertainment at night as well. Despite these long hours and some very demanding customers, they were always happy to help. Outstanding service all around.
