UPDATE: I reached out to Bonnie that offered assistance in the comment below with no response. I am still suffering side effects from Multihance 4 months later.

They are using the linear form of Gadolinium for their MRI contrast instead of the Macrocyclic. Quick google search will tell you this form deposits at a much higher rate throughout your body than it s macrocyclic counterpart (skin, bones, kidney, muscles, liver, and particularly YOUR BRAIN) and dissociates from the chelated safe form to its toxic form and causes oxidative damage. It s use has been banned in EU, yet here we are. It s probably cheaper . Neither form are truly safe however, and not one single person discussed contrast dangers with me, other than I may feel mild side effects. I did not know the dangers until I researched the contrast agent when I came home. I actually did not NEED it and have had to stop nursing due to the linear form circulating in my bloodstream (in contrast from what they tell you, it does not all leave within 24-48 hours!!! I had two tests to demonstrate retention, one urine test 4 days after was a value of 490 with a reference value of 0.8. The other was a breastmilk test 6 weeks after injection that also had detectable levels of Gad).

Best advice: AVOID injecting contrast if at all possible.

There are no tried and true methods of getting this metal out of your body. It is a VERY potent calcium channel blocker and basically is cemented in due to its electron configuration. DTPA is the most acknowledged chelator of Gad, however it does come with risks, does not chelate all of it out, is very expensive, and is not even offered in NM

JUST SAY NO!
