One of the oldest hotels in the country and longtime favorite hole-up spot for dignitaries, business leaders, and notable guests, the Manila Hotel has maintained a good atmosphere despite operating almost continuously since the American colonial period. Classy period architecture, good food, and attentive surface make the experience memorable, though the age of the building still seeps through, particularly in places like rooms and suites in the older portions of the complex. Great if you're looking for a touch of high class in the most tourist-relevant portion of Manila, but may be suboptimal for busy business travelers that prize immediate convenience and accessible modern amenities.
