I'm not even a tourist and I never get tired of coming through (given the opportunity) and just stare at this majestic landmark.
Yes, I've been here many times and each time is always breathtaking.
A few tips:
1) Take the time to see it from more than one viewpoint. I would suggest three off the Sausalito side. (Bottom at the park, bridge level, then up the hill.) Each experience is different, TRUST. You can walk on the bridge if you're on the correct side. if you happen to park at the biker's only side, there is a walkway under the bridge to lead you to the opposite/walking side.
2) Parking is free at all three spots.
3) Bathrooms at the hill is pretty nasty. Bring your own tissue and antibacterial gel.
Whether it's clear of fog is hit and miss. Weather and season play significant roles on that outcome.
