When my dad and I were leaving Mexico City, the employees took our stuff. They took my dad's medicine (e.g. Hydrocodone, Temazapam) and two boxes of camote candy. My dad had evidence that his medicine was prescribed by a doctor, and the boxes of candy were non-liquid. All of these items were allowed on our carry-on luggage. They took away a lotion too, but that was understandable (over 3.4 ounces). If we didn't give up our items they told us we were going to miss our flight. My dad and I were unprepared for this experience. It's amazing to compare it to our experience at LAX, where the LAX employees let us bring a water bottle because my dad needed it for his medication.
