Couple of things to consider / remember when heading over. You take a boat out to the statue itself, if it s cold or raining you will need suitable clothing etc. Also the island itself is pretty exposed so make sure your prepared, particularly if you have kids with prams.

Also if you plan to head up to the crown make sure you book your tickets well in advance. You can feel the crown swaying in rough breeze as well, apparently nothing to be scared about but I wasn t the most excited person in the world with the experience. Also the stairs up to the crown are very tight and windy, there is no lift up there.
