We have been staying at Long Beach Resort for almost 20 years through private owners on Airbnb and VRBO, but this stay with Resort Collection was unlike any stay we have had at Long Beach. It was TERRIBLE from the first moment we arrived.

First of all, we received conflicting information on where to check in. We received a message through Hotels.com, where we booked the stay, saying to check in at Edgewater. When we arrived at Edgewater after our 5 hour drive from Georgia, we were told to go to Majestic to check in.

After we grabbed keys and armbands and paid for an extra cleaning fee at Majestic, we made our way to Long Beach, where we found the room in absolute filth. During a pandemic no less. The toilet was completely vandalized with other people s feces and was not functional. We drove back to Majestic after we called multiple front desks who could not help us.

We did not want to stay in that room because of the pandemic and the lack of sanitization, but we were told that there were no other available rooms at ANY other Resort Collection property. We were offered a refund, but there was nowhere else to go that was comparable. We had already driven 5 hours to get there.

They called maintenance and housekeeping to go back to the room, which should have been done BEFORE our stay and not when we arrived. This was around 5:30. They told us they d call when it was ready.

No one ever called us, so we went back to Majestic to inquire. This was around 7:30. They told us it was ready, but no one informed us. We had to drive BACK to Majestic to get any information.

They cleaned the toilet, but the room looked like they only changed the sheets between stays. In the middle of a pandemic. They did take the time to take all of the blankets off the beds. We were never informed that comforters were taken away and that we d only be provided with sheets. We had to go buy a comforter, along with cleaning products.

On top of that, the room looked like nothing had been replaced or updated since the 1980s. The lamp shades were broke. The furniture was stained, worn out and rusted. It was extremely disappointed. You should NOT be renting this room to people.

During our entire stay, we had maintenance in and out of our room. Our air conditioning was broken. That wasn t fixed until the 3rd day. Our toilet was never fixed. They told us they were going to put an entirely new toilet in, but no one ever came back to do that. We spent the entire stay with a toilet that didn t flush.

Our vacation was spent on the phone with the front desk and maintenance. It was not relaxing. It was not enjoyable. I cannot express enough how awful our stay was.

Management and maintenance were very nice and apologetic the entire time, but no solutions ever came of it.
