We stayed here during a roadtrip through the Southwest. We made a comprise to save money by staying in mostly cheap hotels, while splurging on the 10 best hotels we could find on our route.

We had the Master Suite here. I believe it was around $300 a night due to some promotion, which was an incredible steal, as this was the very best hotel room we had our whole trip. (This was nicer than L' Auburge de Sedona which cost nearly $1k a night)

The room must have 20 foot high ceilings, and beautiful sliding wood shutters that open to a floor to ceiling window that is probably 20 feet wide. We had a direct, unobstructed, wide view of the Garden of the Gods park rock formations, with good privacy. We could see a small pond on the grounds with frequent rabbits, deer, and other animals frequently roaming freely.

The room was astounding. Perfectly soundproof, a luggage room as big as some hotel rooms, triple sinks, a makeup station, separate toilet and tub/shower rooms, beautiful pocket doors, a wonderful bed, a workspace and a dining area.

The valet, room service and housekeeping staff were tremendous. We had turndown service that was not at all awkward and were generally treated with great respect by those staff.

The front desk was a bit awkward. Check-in was drawn out because the staff was chatty and asked a lot of personal questions. I'm sure they were just trying to build rapport, but I prefer a front desk that is quick and more professional.

The smoking policy here is draconion. They don't have anywhere to smoke, period. You'd have to walk a long ways to get off the property, and then you are just on the edge of a road with no sidewalk. We did smoke in our car, but that required us to avoid the valet so we could get to our car, and that forced us to walk farther each time.

I get that fine hotels don't want visible smokers. Just provide an area for smokers that is hidden from view.
