this one star is for the service department; i did not purchase my altima from this dealership.

i have been going to this dealership for over five years and have two disappointing stories to share:
1) my previous rep (forget his name but he no longer works there) duped me by doing some classic sleezy tactics. first, i needed new brake pads and he said my rotors look ok to be shaved and shouldnt need new ones. he later calls me and states that i do in fact need new rotors and should get them replaced, which i did. he then stated my bill was 'x' amount then when i got to pickup my car, the bill is $80 more then what he said it was and i had to deal with the cashier cause he left for the day. lastly, i drive off and noticed my alignment was off tremendously. i went to the nearest gas station and checked the air in my tires and i find my left side is at 32PSI but my right side is at 40PSI. classic dirtball move.

i called the service department the next day and complained and they said they would give me a free oil change and car detail for my trouble. i stated i did not want to be serviced by him again.

my next visit, i got steve grabov and for years, he has been my go-to guy until recently. one night my car steering column failed and i had to get it towed and replaced. upon analysis, steve calls me to say how sorry he was for my unfortunate problem and wanted to warn me that both my front lower arms are worn and would need to be replaced in order for me to pass my upcoming inspection. after some thought, i asked how this problem just surfaced now after years of getting regular maintenance checkups there? he stated he wasnt sure. after some more thought, i realized my warranty had just expired (seven year extended) and was now upset at the thought of being taken advantage of. when i asked steve about this warranty inconvenience, he quickly responded that i would need to contact nissan corp. for resolution. after contacting nissan corp., they recommended i get a second opinion at conicelli nissan, which they of course said that problem existed and was charging $150 more than montgomeryville nissan.

frustrated, i got a third opinion by going to another mechanic and getting an inspection. outcome...no problems and got my stickers.

im writing this review ten months later after it occurred because i have been pleasantly suprised at how much better the service has been at my new mechanic. i'm also writing this to inform other people that just because its a reputable dealership, it doesnt mean the service department is trust worthy. always get a second or third opinion if something doesnt seem right.
