I am house-sitting for my daughter in Atlanta. I decided to go out for a long run on the Beltline. On the return trip I stumbled on some broken concrete....scraping my knuckles quite bloody. I was right across the street from the Kroger at 590 Cascade Ave. I know they always have public restrooms in Krogers where I could wash my wounds. I wandered in......with an impressive amount of blood dripping down my hands. The security guard right inside the door calmly directed me to the rest room, and asked if I needed any bandages. I said it looked worse than it was, and went to wash up. They were still bleeding quite a bit, and when I got back to the store entrance, she continued to express concern. I didn't want to get her in trouble by distracting her from her responsibilities......but she was politely persuasive and convinced me to wait while she located some first aid supplies.
I was prepared to run the remaining three miles home and finish treating my scrapes and gouges there. However she came up with some alcohol swabs, bandaids and antibiotic cream. I must admit I felt better about the first aid.....having recently been on antibiotics for two weeks for a skin infection, which she of course didn't know.
I hope I remember her name right. I think she said Officer Wilson. She was a very pretty young African-American woman with long black hair. She was posted just outside the Fifth Third Bank. It was not her job to tend to me, and many people would not have done so. It was definitely above and beyond the call of duty. You have a great employee there, and she reflects well on your company.
