Yes the sculptures, paintings, and artifacts are astounding. But stacked almost on top of each other one in unending halls one begins to wonder at the richess. I guess it s a testament to the power of the Catholic Church over time but it all feels a bit questionable. What s that quote in the Bible about rich people and passing through the eye of a needle. Well in any case it s worth going. Just be ready for...a bit too much. Try if you can to find one or two pieces for memories sake or it will all be a blur.

If you end up in the line for the Sistine chapel you can sneak into the back way with the special tours. Well I was on a special tour and saw a few people do this so maybe it s worth a try but truth is I think the not-special tours get a better view of the ceiling and everyone gets rough treatment. Ha.
