The Stone Zoo is a fine place to spend 2 hours with your kids- much easier to get to than Franklin Park and an adequate variety of animals. Our favorites include the bears, snow leopards, bald eagles, flamingos, and jaguar. A little pricey (like all museums/zoos) for single-day admission but become a member and it pays for itself pretty quickly. Best to add on a hike in the Fells or a lunch at Whole Foods in Melrose or Woburn afterwards.
