I can't clearly express just how exhausting and aweful our experience was with Eden Crest. We booked Magnolia Place 1&2 for a 45 person conference retreat. Upon arriving we found one unit locked and with the code not working and unable to open. It was late and as we were calling management we found in the other unit numerous bed bugs. As we checked each room the amount of hairs in linens and stains of which I cannot mention but provided all pics to ownership were all throughout the cabin. Management came and we had to literally go get bed bugs out of garbage we had thrown away to even seriously consider the nastiness we were in. All the while 40 plus students stood outside waiting. When then proceeded to show the matted hair in the stain of ..... and other types of hairs on basically very bed.
After nearly an hour they moved one group to a chalet close by but we had to split the group and they moved the others to an over 35 minute drive away to another 9 bedroom cabin. The cabin here was a definite upgrade But by this time it was almost 1:00 am and when we got to that cabin the code there would not work. Finally after two calls we were given another code to enter. When we opened the door and our young ladies got inside the alarm went off waking the neighborhood again after 1:00 am. We had to call and get code from management to shut off alarm.
We had spent an enormous amount of money on the conference and sessions but were unable to do so because we were now 35 minutes apart and with day traffic well over 45. I requested a full refund and refund of the conference items we purchased and were unable to use or a weekend comp cabin for some of my key leadership who took off work yet were unable to speak and teach sessions.
Our response from management was this. NO. Based on this reasoning. We moved you to a much larger cabin. When I rehearsed the whole purpose for the trip was the conference and after forwarding pics to them as to how disgusting the whole experience was they simply said they have done all they will do.
They suggested that they have no way of know if we staged the bed bugs even though I had 8 adults to witness the whole aweful event. Then said the next day that house cleaning found only DEAD bed bugs. They also suggested the sticky matted substance on more than one bed matted in personal hair (you can guess) may not be what we thought. Then had the audacity to suggest the cabin they moved us to was only a 15 minute drive. Even though every GPS in each vehicle showed and it was at a minimum 35 to 40 minutes without traffic.
I have stayed at numerous cabin rentals in Pigeon Forge and have never had anything remotely close to this. Eagles Ridge Resort is fabulous to work with their property is immaculate. The only good part of working with them was Dustin Guest Relations who was professional and kind. It's a shame that he isn't in a more visible role since I believe he would have graciously handled this for us.
We have all of this pictured and documented to proceed as we need to but highly advise anyone seriously thinking about either of the Magnolia Places or Eden Crest in general to consider this honest review.
